Day 1: ARRIVE NAIROBI, KENYA
Arrive in Nairobi, gateway to your thrilling Kenya safari; transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to acclimate to your new time zone and prepare for the African adventure that awaits you.
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before an insightful day trip to Nairobi’s key attractions. Your first stop will be at the Giraffe Centre, a conservation center for the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe where you’ll have a chance to feed these friendly giants. Next you’ll drive to the world-famous Daphne Sheldrick baby Elephants Orphanage center. Spend some time with the elephants as they are fed by staffs, who are on hand to answer any questions and talk about their experiences with these rescued baby elephants. The elephants are inquisitive, so expect a trunk heading in your direction! Have lunch at Tamarind Tamambo, and then visit the Karen Blixen Museum; the simple farm house home of Karen Blixen, author of Out of Africa. Drive back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: NAIROBI- TO AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.
After breakfast, proceed to Amboseli National Park, stopping along the way for breathtaking views from the other side of Great Rift Valley. Proceed to Amboseli, lunch on the way, arriving late afternoon with en-route game drive to your lodge/ or self-contained tented camp.
Day 3: FULL DAY TO EXPLORE AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast, go for a whole day with your picnic lunch for game viewing drives in Amboseli National Park watching the peak of mighty Mt. Kilimanjaro at 5,895 m which will be seen from your camp and on game viewing drives, anywhere in the park or from the Observation hill. Large herds of elephants and hippos can be seen bathing in the swamp grounds whose waters source is Mt. Kilimanjaro. Hyenas laughing, lions growling, buffaloes blindly grazing in the fields and other species of wildlife and birds. Note: It was this region of Kenya that, in the 1930’s, inspired Ernest Hemingway’s unforgettable stories ‘The Snows of Mt. Kilimanjaro’. The wildlife abounds in this wilderness.
Day 4: AMBOSELI PARK – TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast depart for Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the Coast. Mzima Springs, the chief marvel here is a favorite haunt of hippos and crocodiles. Arrival at your Kilaguni Serena Lodge will be in time for lunch. An early evening game drive to see large herds of elephants, buffalo, common waterbuck, eland, rhino and wide variety of antelope.
Day 5: TSAVO WEST NATIONAL PARK – TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK
We depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Tsavo East National park. Game is viewed as we exit the park. Dinner and overnight stay at Voi Safari Lodge This park was famed for its large herds of elephant covered in red dust and fine scenery. We visit the scenic Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rocks (attracts elephants in the drier season) and Aruba Dam as we view game if time permits. Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge
Day 6: TSAVO EAST NATIONAL PARK – MOMBASA
Early morning game drive. Soon after breakfast we proceed to Mombasa arriving at 1400 hrs.Drop off at a beach hotel to start a beach holiday.
